Explore International Internship Opportunities, HUFLIT Welcomes Japanese Delegation

Following the project to send students for internships in Japan, on August 29, 2023, representatives from the Oita Prefectural Government, Japan, and U International Human Co., Ltd. visited HUFLIT. With the goal of exploring cooperation possibilities in programs sending HUFLIT students to participate in internships in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, Japan.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Rector delivered a speech at the meeting.

Representing HUFLIT, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Rector, along with leaders and faculty members from the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, and the External Relations Department, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Oita Prefecture.

Mr. Kamijo Satoshi – Deputy Director of the Promotion Planning Division at the Oita Prefectural Government introduced an overview of Oita Prefecture, Japan.

Mr. Kamijo Satoshi, Deputy Director of the Planning and Promotion Division at the Oita Prefectural Government, provided information about Oita Prefecture. Located in the south of Japan, Oita is famous for its warm climate and currently attracts a large number of international students. Out of a population of 1.1 million, there are about 15,000 foreigners, with about two-thirds being Vietnamese.

Additionally, Mr. Takanobu Ogi, Head of International Policy at the Planning and Promotion Division, highlighted Oita’s strengths in technology and agriculture. Notably, Oita is famous for Beppu City, often called the “Hot Spring Capital” due to having the largest number of hot springs in Japan. This opens up great opportunities for Japan’s traditional ryokan (inn) industry. However, following the Covid-19 pandemic, the workforce in the tourism and hotel industry has not yet fully recovered.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Rector of HUFLIT, emphasized the rich cultural heritage, education system, and enduring Vietnam-Japan relations. Recognizing the needs of Oita Prefecture and Beppu City, HUFLIT desires to provide high-quality human resources capable of adapting and actively contributing to an ever-changing society. Ensuring transparency, responsibility, and a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders, including students, parents, and society, is essential.

(operating in the fields of human resource development, operations and human resource consulting, and overseas labor dispatch services) shared that they have gathered recruitment information and condition details from Japanese businesses wishing to receive interns and will send them to the University soon for program implementation.

In the upcoming period, HUFLIT aims to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Beppu Ryokan Association, focusing on supporting HUFLIT students in internships in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. This program will initially be implemented through the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures due to its language advantages, and later expanded to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality and other related faculties.

This project promises a mutually beneficial partnership, harmonizing educational excellence with industry needs. Stay tuned for more updates as HUFLIT progresses in this exciting project.
