On the morning of December 26, 2022, at the Conference Room (Building B, Sư Vạn Hạnh Campus), Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) solemnly held the KEB HANA 2022 Scholarship Award Ceremony for 25 students with excellent academic performance, who have overcome difficulties, actively participated in school activities, as well as new students with outstanding achievements in the recent high school graduation exam. More specifically, the KEB HANA 2022 scholarship fund has a total of only 250 slots for students nationwide, and HUFLIT is honored to receive 25 of them.
This is an annual scholarship sponsored by two units: “KEB HANA Bank” and “Hana Nanum Foundation”. This year, there are 25 slots for students from faculties such as the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Economics and Finance, and Faculty of Law. In addition, this is the first year that students from the Faculty of Business Administration have received this scholarship.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from KEB HANA Bank, HCMC Branch: Mr. Joo Jin Kyu – General Director of KEB HANA Bank, HCMC Branch; Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hồng Cúc – Human Resources Director; Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Mai – Bank Specialist. On behalf of HUFLIT, there was the presence of the following teachers: Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn – Rector of HUFLIT; M.A. Nguyễn Thị Thiều – Head of the External Relations Department; M.A. Đinh Hồng Vân – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department; Dr. Trần Văn Tiếng – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures; Dr. Nguyễn Thị Xuân Lan – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance; Dr. Bùi Kim Hiếu – Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Huân – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; M.A. Đinh Lan Hương – In charge of the Korean language program. Along with them was the appearance of 25 excellent students who received the KEB HANA 2022 scholarship.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Mạnh Hà – Vice Rector (HUFLIT) delivered a speech expressing deep gratitude to KEB HANA Bank and the HANA NANUM Scholarship Fund for accompanying HUFLIT for over 10 years, bringing students many opportunities for study, endeavor, and training. This demonstrates the fine friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries, Vietnam and South Korea. At the same time, Mr. Hà also advised the 25 students to continue striving in their studies and achieve even more accomplishments in the upcoming semesters.
Mr. Joo Jin Kyu – General Director of KEB HANA Bank, HCMC Branch, shared a few words of encouragement to the students. The achievements and successes you receive today are all due to each person’s effort and continuous learning. Therefore, continue to cultivate and refresh your knowledge every day so that you can develop in the best possible way.
On behalf of the students, Nguyễn Thanh Hào – a 3rd-year student majoring in Korean Language (Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures), representing the 25 scholarship recipients of the KEB HANA 2022 scholarship, spoke: “For us students, receiving the scholarship is of great significance, proving our tireless efforts in the learning process. At the same time, it partly helps students facing difficult circumstances to cover some expenses during their studies. I would like to sincerely thank the school, KEB HANA Bank, and the Nanum Scholarship Fund for providing the opportunity and conditions for students to continue striving and endeavoring in the coming semesters.”
In the atmosphere of the ceremony, Lâm Ngọc Hương – a 2nd-year student from the Faculty of Business Administration (in special circumstances) shared: “I feel very happy and honored to be 1 of the 25 students receiving the scholarship this time. For me, the KEB HANA scholarship not only empowers me on my university path but also helps me reduce a part of the pressure regarding tuition fees. At the same time, this serves as a motivation for me to study harder and strive more so as not to disappoint the expectations, trust, and opportunities that HUFLIT and the representatives of the scholarship fund have given me.”
It can be said that for over 10 years, HUFLIT has always received enthusiastic support and trust from KEB HANA Bank and the Nanum Scholarship Fund. This demonstrates the strong bond between the two countries, Vietnam and South Korea. This year, there are 25 slots for HUFLIT students ($400/slot). Through the selection process by the Faculty’s Board of Management, HUFLIT decided to award scholarships to: 10 students majoring in Korean Language (Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures); 3 students from the Faculty of Law; 6 students from the Faculty of Business Administration; 6 students from the Faculty of Economics and Finance.
